Free Rice

Friday, November 13th, 2009

FreeRice is a non-profit website run by the United Nations World Food Program. For each answer you get right, we donate 10 grains of rice through the UN World Food Program to help end hunger.

FreeRice has a custom database containing knowledge questions at varying levels of difficulty. There are levels appropriate for beginners and levels that will challenge the most scholarly professors. In between are levels suitable for students of all ages, business people, homemakers, doctors, truck drivers, retired people. everyone!

FreeRice automatically adjusts to your level. It starts by giving you questions of increasing difficulty and then, based on how you do, assigns you an approximate starting level. You then determine a more exact level for yourself as you play. When you get a question wrong, you go to an easier level. When you get three questions in a row right, you go to a harder level. This one-to-three ratio is best for keeping you at the .outer fringe. of your skills, where learning can take place.

FreeRice has two goals:

Provide education to everyone for free.
Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.
This is made possible by the generosity of the sponsors who advertise on this site.

Whether you are CEO of a large corporation or a street child in a poor country, improving your education can improve your life. It is a great investment in yourself.

Perhaps even greater is the investment your donated rice makes in hungry human beings, enabling them to function and be productive. Somewhere in the world, a person is eating rice that you helped provide.

People String

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

If you’ve heard about PeopleString and you’re worried that it’s too good to be true, you’re not alone. People are naturally suspicious about any opportunity to make money online; they’re more suspicious when you get can paid more by referring other people. So they ask themselves if all these programs are just scams.

But what happens when the program is 100% free, gives you some honest services for free, lets you share with others for free, and actually pays its members on time?

At that point, the red flags should be cautiously coming down. The scam signal should start to fade. If it’s really free, couldn’t you just try it and then quit if you don’t like it? Yep. That’s exactly what you can do with PeopleString.

The funny thing is — and I honestly mean funny, because it’s a hoot to see human nature flare up like this — I still see online comments from people who have never looked into PeopleString and they’re telling others to stay away. Presumably because if you can refer others and you can make money with it, it has to be a scam.

But PeopleString just isn’t. While it does have a paid upgrade option, from my experience 95% of the users will stay with their free membership and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. They will continue to earn from their own usage, and they will still be able to earn money from referring other people.

Plus, they get free access to a social network and an exclusive e-mail system that lets you send video e-mails, trackable e-mails, self-destructing e-mails, and more. Did I mention that it’s free?

The fact is, if you just wanted to be able to send video e-mails to people and you didn’t want to pay another service for doing so, you could join PeopleString just for that. You could entirely skip the opportunity to earn money (though you still might earn some) and never refer another person and still get some useful services. Tell me, where is the scam in that?

The business model is really not much different from Facebook’s or Google’s, yet there’s one primary difference. All of them want to build a massive audience so that they can earn their keep from advertisers. But PeopleString pays most of its ad revenues back to the members.

This includes a Mailbox-Cashbox program that’s similar, in a sense, to Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising. But it’s much, much better. As with PPC, advertisers only pay for their audience when the audience takes some action. Only instead of a simple click, with PeopleString they have to be even more active: opt into a mailing list; visit a website and enter a code; watch a video to get a code from the end; etc.

The audience is targeted because members fill out a survey for demographic purposes. They then eagerly look for ads to read or watch. They are active, which is huge for advertisers. And they are active because they are paid every time they take an action. In other words, the ad dollars don’t all spill to PeopleString. They’re paid to this active audience.

Now the only other reason I can see people confusing PeopleString with a scam is because of the paid upgrade option. This upgrade provides certain service benefits, like longer video e-mails and unlimited e-mail storage; plus, upgraded members are paid approximately three times as much on the activity earnings of their team members. Some people see the potential of PeopleString and naturally want to take this step.

While some PeopleStringers may pressure their personal team members about this, the company definitely does not push this option, nor do many of the Stringers I know. This isn’t about the upgrade. This is about the average person being able to earn money online without investing a dime. And as I said, I see about 95% of PeopleString users sticking with their free accounts.

So is PeopleString a scam? It might be if you’ve never looked into it and you conjure up whatever you want to about it. But the real PeopleString — the program actually available for free to people everywhere — the real PeopleString is no scam, and is an honest, no-risk way for people to start making money online.

For details about the program and how I can help you to grow a network of PeopleString users, please visit my PeopleString website. Or to sign up right away, visit and Join PeopleString or email me at muffieshannen@peoplestring.com.

Adbrite Advertisement

Friday, October 30th, 2009

After I got kicked out on Adsense, I started using Adbrite. Although I really cannot compare their pay off, I am contented and happy on their system.

First, Adbrite is not that technical conscious and will not easily voted you off if you done something wrong with their guidelines. Plus they have this really cute under link thing also known as inline ads and full page ads, he he..  Especially now that I found a nice way to increase my publication advertisement, yehey! I really got thrilled, after using different method to increase my traffic I noticed that Muffie Shannen got fewer ads so I tried to increase again my viewers. But after pulling some tricks and implementing some method Adbrite’s ads came back!

As you can see Adbrite let advertisers choose which website to show their ads! Nice huh?! They even let sexy or something like that ads pass through! The next thing you will do is spread that you let people market on your website, nice huh?!

Just Another Open Letter to Mafia War Zynga

Mafia War Properties

Mafia War Properties

“Good Day, Zynga! I hope this correspondence reaches you well. This is regarding the harassment of Don Knuckles to my account in Mafia Wars. I am losing hope on him playing this game. I felt that I am being harassed emotionally playing this application.

Since yesterday, he kept on attacking and robbing my account. It is as if he was doing it limitlessly and continuing to degrade me. Considering the level gap of my character to him, it has been so frustrating to go forward for me to play this game. He is currently level 479 while I am just level 71.

I do not feel any grudge for this player. I just want to play mafia wars with my friends and promote bonding to other Facebook members. If you found his behavior to be seriously affecting other players in a negative way, not just to me, I hope you can lay judgment to what he has done. Moreover, I will respect your investigation whatever the result may be.

Have a nice day and more power to Mafia Wars and Facebook and Zynga.”

Mafia War

Mafia War

If you had notice I seldom post new article and reply to comments (sorry guys…), don’t be alarmed! I am not sick or anything. It’s just that I’m addicted to this LAN game that it consumed all of my free time!

I have been playing some of online game such as Dragon Adopters, DOTA, Counter Strike, The Sims and Mafia War. But since I started playing the latter, I haven’t had time to my Muffie Shannen. From the time my addiction started with the role playing game, I religiously played it every day and forget to write new article and market my weblog!

But unfortunately for me and fortunately to my readers, Facebook was blocked here in the office and tunnel/proxy site won’t allow me to login! Too bad, I’m supposed to post a proxy on one of my post but it will be useless to me!

Lhet accidentally found another way to access my favorite pastime, Tagged also cater Mafia War but I have to use new account thus making me play starting on level one!

Does anyone know how can I play it here in the office?!

Cheat Domain

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

I had the chance to talk to my brother’s friend Rodrigo, who is a System Admin and knows a lot of things regarding domain solutions and cheats he he.. So giving the chance I sprung some questions that might help me improve my petiks mode in the office!

We all had this security in the office where domain policies take effects such as:

I made up some solutions that might work or might not work:

  • USB not allowed, if you know the BIOS password then you’re safe, for now
  • Have you use proxy or tunnel site? We know almost all of them but unfortunately block by our System Admin. Sorry Accenture guys but you are not in domain, you are using VPN
  • Most of applications that we know run in .exe, so if you know apps that run in .dll mode then you can start downloading them in Portable Apps

I had checked the Portable Apps and hopefully I can run Google Chrome here in the office, he he..

Convenient

Now you can carry your favorite computer programs along with all of your bookmarks, settings, email and more with you. Use them on any Windows computer. All without leaving any personal data behind.

PortableApps.com provides a truly open platform that works with any hardware you like (USB flash drive, iPod, portable hard drive, etc). The entire platform is open source built around an open format that any hardware or software provider can use.

Big Fish Rank

Certified Backlinks.
Site Class:Are you a Big Fish?

Want to check if you are a Big Fish in the Cyber Ocean?  Goongee lets you check your number of back links and some kind of page rank meter. Then they tell you what level are you by using picture of a fish. The good part is that they automatically update your result everyday so there is no hassle to update your weblog or going back to their site.

Here is the legend of  your blog in oceanic web

  1. Tiny Lil Guppy – I’m still this one. Tiny Lil Guppies better watch out. They’re just too small to wander the Ocean alone.
  2. Small Smelt – Smelts aren’t big and tough. Only Guppies are smaller.
  3. Medium Herring – Not the scariest fish around, but not one who gets pushed around easily either
  4. Big Shark – Better not mess with a Big Shark
  5. Humongous Sailfish – A fish this size is one to be reckoned with. You better have a big hook to catch this one.
  6. Freaking Whale – the largest of all creatures in the ocean. Only a few chosen websites can be whales.

Still a Guppy but I can grow to become a Freaking Whale on the World Wide Web. I just need to follow SEO back links and my blog will grow into the biggest Fish in the Ocean.

Can’t wait to be the biggest fish in the Sea!
